Our 2026 Autumn Lecture Series invites those on the edge to speak to our heart and those at the heart to show their edge.
This is a time when many things that had long been taken for granted are being questioned; it could be a moment when many things long neglected become central. The speakers crystallise the character and mission of St Martin-in-the-Fields by addressing our desire for wisdom and understanding, but also our calling to hold to account and seek justice. I trust this is a series in which everyone will find something to discover and something to admire – something that questions long-held assumptions, and something that inspires new commitments.
– Revd Dr Sam Wells
Vicar, St Martin-in-the-Fields
The Autumn Lectures Series at St Martin-in-the-Fields bridges the gap between theological and secular discussion of the great issues of social justice, global responsibility, spirituality and humane intelligence. We bring together audiences and speakers whose cultural and political imagination inspires debate that may lead to effecting change. We welcome people of faith, people of reason and people of passion to imagine the world as it is and as it might be.
