Daytime Disco in the Crypt

Why wait until midnight to lose yourself in the music?

Trade the traditional late-night exhaustion for pure daytime euphoria. We are transforming the historic, atmospheric Crypt Gallery at St Martin-in-the-Fields into a subterranean daytime dance party featuring disco hits from the 70s onwards.

This is a fun afternoon escape beneath the heart of London. Dance under the brick arches, soak up the incredible acoustics, and still have your whole evening ahead of you to keep the party going (or get a full night’s sleep or do your big shop on the way home – we won’t judge).

Experience one of London’s most iconic hidden venues like never before and get that irreplaceable disco euphoria, then walk out into the evening light ready for dinner, more drinks, or a fresh start tomorrow.

Tickets are strictly limited for this exclusive experience for over 18s only.

Bringing a group? There are bar and ticket discounts for groups of 6 or more.

Unfortunately, the 17 October event is cancelled. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Crypt Live: Jazz and Blues with TJ Johnson

An evening with TJ Johnson and his band in concert.

TJ will take you on a dusty trail from the smokey Jazz dives of New Orleans through the foot tapping Honky Tonks of Texas to the gin-soaked Speakeasies of New York. TJ takes influences from musical legends such as Dr John, Ray Charles, Jimmy Witherspoon, Billie Holiday, Frank Sinatra and Willie Nelson.

TJ Johnson is widely considered to be one of the UK’s most charismatic highly revered Jazz and Blues singers. He is also a hot piano player and respected bandleader. TJ sprang onto the Jazz scene in the late 80’s as a jazz singer with Max Collie at the age of 17 and since forming his own band in 1990 has performed extensively for over thirty years now at many theatres, festivals and jazz clubs both in the UK and overseas.

Always a true ambassador of the soul, TJ sings songs of love lost and gained, of life wholesome and corrupt, songs of hope and despair, songs of the night, all with the true passion and boozy swagger of only a man who has been there and knows.

Doors open from 7pm allowing you plenty of time to settle in, and enjoy some delicious food and drinks before the show starts at 8pm.

Crypt Live: Duke Street Big Band

Duke Street Big Band is one of London’s premier big bands. Founded in 2011, the seventeen-piece outfit draws musicians from across the city, playing jazz, funk, swing, latin, soul and blues. They’re regulars at The Crypt, and a reliably thrilling live act.

For this show, Duke Street turn the spotlight on Toshiko Akiyoshi – Japanese composer, pianist, bandleader, and one of the most distinctive voices in jazz history. Her music fuses Japanese folk heritage with American big band jazz, shaped by her wartime years in occupied Manchuria. The result is quietly radical and expressive: something that doesn’t quite sound like anyone else. She reshaped what big band music could be, at a time when the industry barely knew what to do with her.

The set features selections from Akiyoshi’s catalogue alongside classic and modern big band repertoire – a big sound, tight playing, and music that moves you.

Doors open from 7pm allowing you plenty of time to settle in, and enjoy some delicious food and drinks before the show starts at 8pm.

Crypt Live: Modern Country with The Jackson Line

A night of Country and Americana with The Jackson Line

Fresh from their breakthrough at this year’s C2C Country to Country festival, The Jackson Line bring their full band into the Crypt for a night of original Americana rock and classic country covers from The Eagles, Don Williams, Luke Combs and more.

Built around powerful three-part harmonies and driving guitars, The Jackson Line deliver a soulful blend of Americana rock rooted in grit, melody and storytelling – songs that feel both timeless and unmistakably their own.

The band have sold out venues across London – Pizza Express Holborn, The Jazz Café, Green Note – and earned a nomination for Band of the Year at the 2024 BCMA Awards.

Expect heartfelt songs, full-throttle rock ‘n’ roll, and a band firing on all cylinders.

Doors open from 7pm allowing you plenty of time to settle in, and enjoy some delicious food and drinks before the show starts at 8pm.

Crypt Live: Blues Night with Marco & Alessandro Cinelli

Marco and Alessandro Cinelli – the Italian brothers behind The Cinelli Brothers (UK Blues Band of the Year 2026) – strip things back to a trio for an intimate evening of blues and soul in the Crypt.

With just guitar, organ, bass and drums, and musicians who know each other’s playing inside out, this is a chance to hear these multi-award-winning artists up close. The Cinelli brothers sell out shows across the UK, Europe and the USA, bringing as much charisma and humour to the stage as they do jaw-dropping musicianship.

Crypt Live: Brazilian Groove with The Fontanas

Brazilian percussion locked into heavyweight funk grooves, a brass section with serious bite, and vocalist Kay Elizabeth holding it all together with a voice that fills any room – that’s The Fontanas.

Backed by musicians who have played alongside Incognito and Alice Russell, The Fontanas have found the sweet spot between tight funk grooves and swinging Latin rhythms.

Expect to be entertained Carnival-style!

Doors open from 7pm allowing you plenty of time to settle in, and enjoy some delicious food and drinks before the show starts at 8pm.

Crypt Live: Jack Mac’s Funk Pack

Led by Jack Mac on the saxophone, The Funk Pack is a collective of some of the strongest jazz and funk musicians from the Cardiff and Bristol area.

Taking inspiration from New Orleans Funk groups like Galactic, Dumpstaphunk and Trombone Shorty’s Orleans Avenue, their original tunes are a mix of rich harmonies, syncopated rhythms, snappy licks and bold horns to move along with.

From soulful melodies to grooving rhythms, the Funk Pack has it all and always gets a crowd dancing.

Doors open from 7pm allowing you plenty of time to settle in, and enjoy some delicious food and drinks before the show starts at 8pm.

Crypt Live: Nashville Nights with Steve Young Band

Steve Young and his six-piece band bring a slice of Nashville to the Crypt beneath Trafalgar Square – a foot-stomping ride through the best of American country, from Johnny & June and Kenny Rogers to Alison Krauss, Zac Brown Band, and Lady A.

Cold drinks, good food, and a room full of people who know every word. This is as close to a honky-tonk as central London gets.

Doors open from 7pm allowing you plenty of time to settle in, and enjoy some delicious food and drinks before the show starts at 8pm.
