Rejoice: A Soulful Celebration of London’s Young Voices

Enjoy an uplifting evening of music as young singers from secondary schools and sixth form colleges across London present a vibrant programme of gospel classics, popular songs and choral music.

This special performance is the culmination of a day-long choral workshop at St Martin-in-the-Fields, bringing together students from across the capital to rehearse and perform as one ensemble. Having prepared the repertoire in their school choirs throughout the term, participants will spend the afternoon refining the programme before taking to the stage for this celebratory concert.

St Martin-in-the-Fields is proud to support the Music Teachers Association’s ‘A Choir in Every School’ campaign, which champions access to choral singing for all young people. Open to students of all musical backgrounds, the project has enabled many participants to experience choir singing for the first time, while helping schools to establish or strengthen their own choral programmes.

Featuring music that spans gospel, contemporary and choral traditions, the concert celebrates the energy, creativity and sense of community that singing together can inspire.

St Martin-in-the-Fields would like to thank the music teachers and staff at all participating schools for their dedication and support in making this project possible.

Guangzhou Panyu Xinghai Children’s Choir

Following a sold-out and enthusiastically received debut at St Martin-in-the-Fields in 2025, the China–UK Youth Cultural Exchange Programme returns to London for a special one-off lunchtime concert featuring the award-winning Guangzhou Panyu Xinghai Children’s Choir from Guangzhou, China.

Part of a major international cultural exchange bringing together more than 200 young musicians and performers from China, Vietnam and the UK, this vibrant programme showcases the very best of contemporary choral music alongside colourful folk traditions from across China.

From Eric Whitacre’s uplifting Sing Gently to folk-inspired songs celebrating festivals, landscapes and ethnic cultures, the concert culminates in powerful excerpts from Xian Xinghai’s iconic Yellow River Cantata—one of the landmark works of twentieth-century Chinese music.

Renowned for its artistic excellence and international success, the Guangzhou Panyu Xinghai Children’s Choir offers London audiences a rare opportunity to experience one of China’s leading youth choirs in the magnificent setting of St Martin-in-the-Fields.

A unique musical journey celebrating friendship, cultural exchange and the universal power of young voices.
